Abstract
This chapter covers the buckling behaviors of HSS box- and H-section columns in terms of experimental and numerical investigations, with considering the measured residual stresses and initial geometric imperfection induced by welding. New design curves are recommended to reduce the underestimation of the ultimate bearing capacity according to current European, US, and Chinese design codes.
