Abstract

First edition of a byzantine papyrus from the Hermopolite nome, containing a so-called “order to arrest” addressed to the eirenarchs of the village Isidorou, asking them to send a guard with three accused men to the city. A point of interest is that the order was issued by a προκουράτωρ. The edition is followed both by a list of orders, which are not included in the existing repertories, and by some observations on the form of this type of document in the Hermopolite nome during the Byzantine period.
