Abstract

Introduction and aims of the study: Diagnostic hysteroscopy enables the direct visualization of the cervical canal and the uterine cavity, allowing an accurate assessment of intrauterine alterations. As for endometritis and endometrial hyperplasia diagnosis, endometrial biopsy’s role is really crucial. Hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy suggest valid and efficient procedures, both evaluating the endometrial factor in terms of female infertility. The purpose of this study was to estimate the reliability of hysteroscopy, routinely performed along with endometrial biopsy, by analyzing and comparing hysteroscopic and histopathological outcomes in asymptomatic infertile patients.
