Abstract

We demonstrate a polarization-dependent binocular waveguide display for augmented reality. Two polarization volume lenses (PVLs) are used to collimate and couple the light emitted from a single display panel into the waveguide, and two polarization volume gratings (PVGs) are used to couple the light out to the human eyes. With the proposed design, different high-quality images can be independently produced in the two eyes.
