Abstract

Ordinary differential equations for atmospheric chemical systems in the mesosphere, stratosphere, troposphere, and atmospheric boundary layer are derived. Accurate methods to systematically solve chemical changes in the above systems are described, and empirical solution methods are also considered. For computational efficiency, general optimization techniques for matrix inversion are presented. Finally, existing issues with simulating chemical changes in the atmosphere are discussed using an example for Los Angeles, California, USA.
