Abstract

Abstract (3S,5R,6S,7E,9ξ)-3-Hydroxy-5,6-epoxy-β-ionyl-β-D-glucopyranoside 1a was identified in a glycosidic extract obtained from apple tree leaves by XAD-2 adsorption and MeOH elution. After a two-step purification of the crude glycosidic mixture with multilayer coil countercurrent chromatography (MLCCC) the new apple leaf glucoside was characterized as its pentaacetate.
