Abstract

Amidst the ongoing higher education reforms in China, the focus on college students’ career planning and employment has intensified. This article centers its research on undergraduates and introduces an innovative approach known as ‘2+3+5’ integrated development, which combines career planning and employment guidance courses. The ‘2’ aspect targets students' development between their sophomore and junior years, emphasizing the cultivation of their professional expertise and gradually aligning these competencies with employer requirements. ‘3’ highlights the holistic, all-encompassing ‘three-full education’ approach to realizing students’ goals, emphasizing the synergy of the entire academic community. ‘5’ centers on fostering talent with a focus on comprehensive development encompassing intellect, physical well-being, and practical skills, in order to adapt to evolving demands in the new era and diverse job positions. This integrated approach helps students gain a holistic understanding of themselves, enhance their overall capabilities, and ultimately elevate their competitiveness in the job market.
