Abstract

More treatments have been introduced for psoriasis in the last two decades than all the rest of dermatology combined. Topical therapies are effective for localized disease. Localized forms of phototherapy have also been developed for limited disease. In more advanced disease, phototherapy with either narrowband ultraviolet B or psoralen UVA are ideal. For extensive disease, oral therapies including methotrexate, acitretin, ciclosporin, and apremilast have been used. Injectable biologic therapies have revolutionized our treatment of this disease.
