Abstract
This paper proposed an electric-power steering control system for emergency obstacle avoidance considering with human arm impedance properties. The system has steering-assistance functions using the desired trajectory of a vehicle and the virtual repellent force for obstacle avoidance. The effectiveness of the proposed system was demonstrated through the double-lane-change test with several human subjects by using the stationary driving simulator.
