Abstract

This chapter offers guidelines for maximizing the use of the tutorial. First, the chapter highlights the role of the tutorial as a reference tool. The tutorial remained most beneficial to participants when it was utilized briefly for reference purposes rather than as a one-shot learning tool. Second, the chapter offers suggestions on how to modify the tool to support users in diverse disciples and for students of various age groups. Modification would focus on the tactic’s examples to support information search in diverse databases, the web and print resources. These examples could be directed at helping elementary, middle, high school and undergraduate students’ information problem solving, as well as helping graduate students in other disciplines. Third, the chapter includes ideas for improving the tool. The tutorial requires instructions aimed at maximizing students’ use of the tool.
