Abstract

Oximes include Aldicarb, a systematic insecticide, and BAS 490 F (Kresoxim methyl), a fungicide. Aldicarb, in an aqueous buffer solution in the pH range 2.91-5.51, the Cu(ll) ion, promotes the decomposition of aldicarb, forming the degradation products 2-methyl-2-(methylthio)propionitrile and 2-methyl-2-(methylthio)propanal. By hepatocyte suspensions prepared from goats, pigs, hens, and rats that have been cryopreserved and thawed, BAS 490 F is metabolized via the same pathways as observed using fresh rat hepatocytes.
