Abstract
The unique characteristics of NiTi alloys, such as shape-memory behavior and superelasticity as well their biocompatibility, have made them very important in the biomedical fields. This chapter aims to review the main applications and progress of NiTi shape-memory alloys in the various biomedical fields. Firstly, the NiTi applications in dentistry like orthodontic wires as well as endodontic fields are presented. In the following orthopedic applications including orthosis, prosthesis implants, and rehabilitation devices are completely discussed. In the end, other surgical and nonsurgical applications such as stents and endoscope guidewires are given.
