Abstract

The professional perspective of the analyst shapes which characteristics are important for identification of the materials of interest. In the case of fibers and forensic science, the mindset is focused on limited sample size, murky origins, and potentially uncertain provenance. Microscopy, therefore, becomes the primary method of choice for forensic fiber identification.
