Abstract

Molecular systematics encompasses a series of approaches in which phylogenetic relationships are inferred using information from macromolecules of the organisms under study. Most molecular data acquired and analyzed today are direct DNA (or RNA) sequences, but indirect measures of sequence data, such as RFLPs and AFLPs, microsatellite data, and RAPDs, are still being used.
