Abstract

More than 30 years ago, Academician V.I. Arnold proposed to evaluate the knowledge of graduates of physics and mathematics departments of universities, checking their ability to solve a set of basic tasks that should be regularly updated. Despite the attractiveness and a number of advantages, the proposed idea has not yet found wide application in practice. The question of the expediency of using such an approach to assess the level of mathematical knowledge among graduates of technical universities is discussed.
