Abstract
An intelligent system (IS) is a promising management tool for returns management, which requires intelligent selections and optimal decisions, especially in apparel supply chains management. This chapter focuses on returns management with ISs in the apparel industry. We first introduce some recent and important research developments and summarize the unique characteristics of returns management in the apparel supply chains. Then, mathematical models are established to analyze returns management based on the features of apparel supply chains, and some important managerial insights are identified to support management decisions in commercial practice. Further, we explore the application of ISs on the returns management in apparel supply chains. Finally, further research directions are pointed out.
