Abstract

This chapter presents a description of the meteorology of the Campos Basin Region, including temperature and relative humidity 2m from the surface, mean sea level atmospheric pressure (MSLP) and winds 10m from the surface. The chapter starts with a general description of the climatology of the Brazilian Southeast Region and its adjoining ocean. A characterization of the Campos Basin climate ensues, followed by an underscoring of the systems which may cause strong winds in the basin. A summary of all elements covered in previous sections is presented at the end of the chapter.
