Abstract

The research aims to determine the linguistic features of cultural space modelling as a method of linguoculturological study of a literary text. Scientific originality of the research lies in applying the theory of linguistic modelling to the analysis of culturally significant extralinguistic information that forms the cultural space of a literary text. The novel “Tyll” by D. Kehlmann, published in German in 2017, served as the research material. The analysis of the material confirms that linguistic units with the specific linguoculturological features recreate and arrange elements of cultural space in the text, which makes it possible to define cultural space modelling as a method of linguoculturological study of a literary text. As a result, the researchers have determined the dependence of cultural space modelling on semantic, contextual and linguoculturological types of analysis; have identified the stages of cultural space modelling that contribute to the recreation of a hierarchically structured system of culturally significant elements; have determined the relationship between the linguoculturological features of various elements of cultural space and the ways of their verbalisation in a literary text.
