Abstract
Onychomycosis of the feet, the leading causative agent of which in the Russian Federation is the species Trichophyton rubrum, is a significant clinical and epidemiological problem. Contact with fungus-contaminated objects is one of the potential ways to spread this disease. The use of disinfectants effective against the pathogen reduces the risk of spreading the disease. The effectiveness of disinfectants containing compounds of various classes as an active substance was evaluated using the suspension method using two disinfection modes for 60 clinical strains of T. rubrum. It has been shown that clinical strains of T. rubrum differ significantly in the level of sensitivity to disinfectants. The insufficient effectiveness of disinfection regimes of certain names of disinfectants in relation to clinical strains of T. rubrum, as well as the resistance of a number of clinical strains to the action of one or more disinfectants, has been confirmed. It is noted that the concentration has a more pronounced effect on the effectiveness of disinfectants, compared with the disinfection time. The use of clinical strains to evaluate the effectiveness of disinfectants improves the quality of disinfection and allows you to make objective decisions when choosing a disinfectant and disinfection mode, as well as their rotation.
