Abstract
This study aims to investigate the effect of CU characteristics of middle school students on problem behavior and to verify the mediating effect of stress in the family. This was intended to provide a foundation for counseling teachers in schools to provide useful data for counseling by reducing problem behavior of adolescents and stress that may occur at home. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, a preliminary survey of 60 copies of middle school students in Seoul related to this researcher showed high reliability with Cronbach's α value of .88. From June 3 to June 20, 2020, 481 copies of the questionnaire were distributed by visiting and commissioning middle schools in person. In this study, a correlation analysis was conducted using the SPSS 21.0 statistical program, and an independent sample t-test was conducted to verify the difference in major variables according to gender. The analysis results accordingly are as follows. First, it was confirmed that the CU characteristics of middle school students had a significant and positive effect on problem behavior. Second, it was confirmed that the CU characteristics of middle school students had a significant positive effect on family relationship stress. Third, it was found that the family relationship stress of middle school students had a significant positive effect on problem behavior. Fourth, the CU characteristics of middle school students partially mediated the relationship between family relationship stress and problem behavior.
