Abstract

Issues of the normalizing of permissibly impact upon water body resulted from heat input with enterprises’ waste water have been discussed. Currently existing methods and approaches have been analyzed in the process of developing the projects of the permissible impact norms setting for the main rivers of the Russian Federation. Critical comments concerning currently existing methods of setting norms for heat input into water sources have been presented. A novel approach to the solution of this task has been proposed. This approach takes into account diversity of any region rivers’ thermal regimes, volume and temperature of the discharged waste waters. The works resulted in a table of the waste water permissible temperatures in respect of the recipient river water temperature or specific heat input by waste waters that enable to assess the waste water volume with certain temperature which will not bring any harm to the water body ecosystem.
