Abstract
The Gini coefficient used in interregional and international comparisons depends on a system of demographic, social and economic factors. The article presents the results of the analysis of the relationship between the indicator of uneven distribution of population income and the index of real gross product. The main part of the materials relates to the regions of the Central Federal District of Russia and covers the period 2012–2022. For a number of regions, a close direct relationship between the studied indicators was found and statistically confirmed.
