Abstract
The article substantiates that competitive potential, being a complex, dynamic category, depends on the level of enterprise development, competitive position, the ability to attract and combine certain types of resources. The definition of «competitive potential» was clarified taking into account its intentional and extensional characteristics. The study of the intentional characteristic of competitive potential was implemented through the formation of a conceptual-categorical concept of the term; distinguishing its properties and determining the relationship of the concept of «competitive potential» with related categories. The properties of the enterprise's competitive potential were separated into two blocks: emergent and methodological. The composition of emergent properties included integrity, non-additivity, relationship with the external environment, anti-entropy and complexity of competitive potential. Methodological properties of competitive potential are presented as: purposefulness, multiplicativeness, continuity, adaptability and synergy. The relationship of the concept of «competitive potential» with the identification of common and distinctive properties was investigated with such related categories as: «competition», «competitive relations», «competitive potential», «competitive advantages» and «competitiveness». The extensional characteristic of the definition «competitive potential of the enterprise» reflects the set of systems that are inherent in the meaning of the definition «competitive potential» and to which the corresponding term will be applied. The authors formed a causal chain «competition» – «competitive relations» – «competitive potential» – «competitive advantages» – «competitive potential» – «competitiveness», the use of which will increase the level of validity of research on the competitive potential of enterprises in market conditions. The necessity of forming a management system of the enterprise's competitive potential is explained by the turbulence of the market environment and fierce competition on the market. Based on the postulates of the system analysis, the authors proposed a conceptual scheme of the management system of the competitive potential of the enterprise.
