Abstract

Background Demulsification of water-oil emulsions is an important stage in the preparation of oil for processing. The presence of water in oil makes it more expensive to pump because of the increase in the volume of the liquid and its viscosity. In many respects, the depth of dehydration depends on the action of the demulsifier used, on the place of its injection, and on the efficiency of mixing with oil. The selection of a highly effective demulsifier for each oil-water emulsion, each oil composition, is carried out experimentally, having previously estimated the results of separation of formation water. Aims and Objectives Conduct on the basis of laboratory studies a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of the influence on the process of demulsification of oil two developed coagulants and widely used in industry demulsifier Recod-118M. Results On the basis of laboratory experiments it was established that the most effective of the reagents for separating the water-oil emulsion is coagulant No. 1 at a concentration of 100 g/t, and at room temperature it is more effective than the widely used industrial demulsifier Recod-118M.
