Abstract

The modern problems of foreign trade of Ukraine in terms of European integration and complex political and economic events are identified. Preconditions forming imbalance of foreign trade of Ukraine are investigated. The dynamics and structure of the past decade are analyzed. The influence of the main factors radical change in commodity and geographical structure of exports and imports. Specifically defined implications of EU autonomous preferences is investigated. The factors affecting the foreign trade in goods with EU countries, weak demand and falling world prices for agricultural products; discrepancy Ukrainian legislation on technical regulations, sanitary and phytosanitary regulation standards of the EU and the devaluation of the euro. The risks and threats to break economic cooperation with Russia for the domestic foreign trade are investigated, in particular due to the hybrid war, the annexation of Crimea and Donbas illegal occupation. Internal factors of foreign trade of Ukraine, including the financial and economic situation of domestic enterprises, problems of its domestic exporters, importers and the state,inadequate foreign policy are discovered. It is concluded that significant potential of Ukrainian foreign trade lies in ensuring geographical expansion of exports and imports. The priority is the exploitation of the signing of the Agreement opportunity to reform and improve the competitiveness of domestic enterprises, and thus increase Ukrainian exports of high-tech products.
