Abstract

The article reveals the peculiarities of the formation of the Institute of the "party of power" in Russia. A comparative analysis of the "party of power" of the Soviet period and the "party of power" in the contemporary Russia. The study is based on two types of the "party of power": 1) severely gegemonist party and 2) moderately dominant party. The first type of all characteristics coincides with the Communist party of the Soviet Union, the second type is attributed to the party "United Russia". When considering the data types came to the conclusion that they differ not only signs, but also the type of political system. Strictly gegemonist party (Communist party of the Soviet Union) is the frame of the entire political system; to moderately dominant party (United Russia) is not characteristic of full identification with the state, its position is shifted to the top of the pyramid of power. Common to the Soviet and modern type "party of power" is the fact that both parties created "from above", the existing power and is characterized by reliance on the power which had brought them forth.
