Abstract
The article considers the issues of teaching Russian as a foreign language in higher professional education institutions, in particular, teaching non-equivalent vocabulary aimed at forming foreign students’ linguo-culturological competence. Relevance of the study is conditioned by objective difficulties in teaching non-equivalent vocabulary associated with impossibility of its semantization by means of literal translation. The authors justify the necessity of the authentic text culturological interpretation, which promotes understanding of the target language conceptual sphere familiarizing students with the basic values of a foreign culture. The paper proposes a set of exercises with methodological recommendations and introduces the methodology of working with non-equivalent vocabulary based on the authors’ personal experience of teaching Russian as a foreign language in higher education institutions.
