Abstract
Approaches to small-scale assessment of the groundwater protection against pollution on the territory of major regions of this country have been considered. Various methodical aspects have been used depending on the tasks to be solved. Smallscale assessment is mostly based on qualitative approaches but in some cases simple calculations of intensity of neutral pollutants migration through a protective zone, as well as experimental data on the pollutants migration velocity in assessment of groundwater protection degree are applied. Only qualitative characteristics of various geological and hydro/geological features of territories are used for major regions comprising territories of different geographical conditions.
