Abstract

Objectives The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in career decision making self efficacy, career preparation, and career decision difficulty according to background variables(grade, gender, academic degree, and whether or not to take career courses) of college students. It might be to provide basic information for designing and operating career education programs suitable for college students.
 Methods The subjects of this study were 341 college students enrolled in community colleges and four-year colleges located in S-si and K-do. The data were collected and analyzed through career decision self-efficacy, career preparation behavior, and career decision difficulty test tools. The collected data were analyzed for differences between groups according to background variables of college students through one-way analysis of variance, Scheffe's post-test, and t-test.
 Results The results of the study were as follows: First, it was found that the career decision making self-efficacy of career decision differs significantly according to the grade, academic degree, major, and whether or not to college students took career courses. Second, it was found that the career preparation behavior differs significantly according to the degree, major, and whether or not college students took a career course. Third, it was found that there was no significant difference in the difficulty of career decision according to the background variables of college students.
 Conclusions Based on the results, factors for the difficulties in teaching the logic and essay course were analyzed, and improvement plans for more effective teaching were discussed. It is expected that this will serve as a basis for establishing the identity and direction of early childhood education curriculum.
