Abstract
The indictment as the final act of the preliminary investigation is considered from the point of view of the theory of communication. The informational, discursive and connotative meanings of this document are highlighted. Its complex legal nature as a triune procedural decision has been established. Proposals aimed at reducing information redundancy while strengthening the argumentative discourse of the indictment are made.
