Abstract
The article presents a vision of the role of the Department of Administrative and Financial Law of the Faculty of Law in the development of the Academy of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and scientific support of administrative and legal support for the execution of criminal penalties and the activities of institutions and bodies of the penal system. The directions of scientific research intended for development by the Department of Administrative and Financial Law within the framework of the implementation of the Concept for the Development of the Penitentiary System for the Period up to 2030 are indicated.
