Abstract
The article examines the history of four one-day newspapers published for charitable purposes by teamsof journalists and public figures in Vladivostok and Khabarovsk in 1915 and 1916. Based on newspaper publications and archival documents, the emergence of the idea of these publications, the attitude of the administration of the Primorsky region to the public initiative, preparation for release, distribution, the achieved effect (circulation, funds raised) are shown. Particular attention is paid to the conflicts that arose among Vladivostok press workers during preparation for the Press Day in the city. A review of the contents of the publications "Vladivostokskiy den' pechati", "Sibirskomu strelku", "Voinu-sibiryaku" (Vladivostok) and "Den' pechati" (Khabarovsk) was made. It is concluded thatthe newspapers studied were successful in terms of their main goal – raising funds for wounded soldiers. But they could not show the unity of society.
