Abstract
Introduction. Humanity has experienced many wars and conflicts in its history, but the vectors of unity and democracy, civilized solution of problems and the development of culture have always been priority. Education, namely its linguistic aspect, played a key role in establishing trust and understanding, establishing dialogue.Considering the realities, speech can act as a unifying factor in society, performing various roles: both as a means of communication, and as a material carrier of information, or the ideological spirit of the nation.Focusing on the language education of adults, in this study we will focus on the role of the state language of Ukraine in the Armed Forces. Note that for the concept of "language education" in the scientific literature in English there are 2 terms - "language acquisition" and "language learning", where the first term - literally "language acquisition" - is used mainly in the study of the first, most often the native language ... The native language for most of the population of our country is still Ukrainian.There is a certain logical identity in the research topic itself: language education for adults is relevant in the conditions, and the language itself acts as a unifying factor of the nation, according to the Basic Law of Ukraine, “the state ensures the comprehensive development and functioning of the Ukrainian language in all spheres of public life throughout Ukraine”, and “ the defense of its sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability is entrusted to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "Purpose. is the analysis of issues of language education of adults in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.Methods. At different stages of scientific research, the following research methods were used: theoretical (analysis and comparison of sources on the problem under study, study of work experience in adult education) and empirical (study of issues of language education of adults in the Armed Forces of Ukraine).Results. As a subject of research, language education of adults is not only in the plane of the scientific interests of linguists, teachers, psychologists, and literary critics. This branch of education and its development is of interest to everyone who wants full realization in life. After all, knowing the language, speech etiquette, a person can not only communicate effectively, but also quickly navigate the flow of information, analyze, make decisions, draw conclusions. That is why we are convinced that language education should be given special attention, implementing the foundations of the concept of "Education throughout life".Originality. There is no people without language. Language is a definite “identifier” of a nation even in a globalized world. Through it, respect for their people, their history and culture is instilled, the foundations of the integral inner world of the individual, its national self-education, and people's worldview are laid. These processes are not permanent and cannot end at a certain stage of education. But the issues of language education should be paid attention to throughout life.Conclusion. One of the main conditions for the formation of a socially active, cultural and spiritually rich personality is the acquisition by military personnel of communicative competencies, the essence of which is not so much in the knowledge base or skills and abilities to fluently and competently speak the Ukrainian language, but in the experience of transferring these skills and the formation of value priorities. Language education for adults in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is the key to the development of the Ukrainian nation based on national unity, dignity and self-esteem, that we are the people of the European community.
