Abstract
The article examines certain issues of the development of the act of investiture and the accompanying complex of insignia in the context of state ideology during the formation of the centralized Russian state and the influence of this socio-political phenomenon on the formation of the state symbols of Russia. The evolution of the complex of insignia of the centralized state of the 15th-17th centuries make it possible to study the historical process of the formation, formation and development of the complex of state regalia of the Russian state in all its objective facts and sources, in their logical and chronological sequence. The versions of the origin of the double-headed eagle are presented. The evolution of the complex of insignia and the politically justified act of investiture, which have deep historical roots, on the one hand, and the desire of our state for openness and integration into the world political space, on the other, is one of the important problems of the country's development.
