Abstract

The article is devoted to one of the important issues of modern linguistic didactics: primary school students’ speech development at Ukrainian language lessons in the process of morphemic and word-forming competences formation. The researcher explains the relevance of the chosen problem by society's requirements for the formation of key personal competencies, in particular communicative one, and a systematic approach to learning the Ukrainian language in primary school. Based on the results of the content of the current programs on the Ukrainian language for the first level of a modern institution of general secondary education analysis, domestic scientists-linguists’ scientific research, the author logically substantiates the need to develop third grade students’ speech in the process of forming their skills and abilities to determine the structure of words and methods of creating lexical units (at the propaedeutic level). The proposed article is the result of research carried out by the scientist, which is theoretical and at the same time practically oriented. The publication contains proposed tasks for the third grade students, developed by the author based on the use of modern innovations, namely: an activity approach, technologies for the development of critical thinking, interactive and game learning technologies. Doing the tasks ensures the formation of key and subject competencies (in particular, communicative, linguistic (to determine the morpheme structure of a word, methods of creating derived words at the pre-theoretical level, peculiarities of their writing, etc.) think critically, work in a team, make joint decisions, etc.), which determine primary school student’s readiness both for further studies and life in a society that is constantly developing. The materials included in the proposed publication are the result of the author's scientific and practical research. The article will be useful not only for practicing teachers who actively introduce innovations in the educational process of the New Ukrainian School, b tut also for higher education institutions lecturers who train future primary school teachers. Acquaintance with the article's content will help students of specialty 013 «Primary School Education» to acquire professional competences regarding the systematic primary school pupils’ teaching of the Ukrainian language (on the example of the development of children's speech in the process of formation morphemic and word-forming competences).
