Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between exercise passion, self-management, and sport-confidence in middle school athletes.BR Method: The subjects of this study were 456, and it was used as the final analysis data through a survey. For data analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, frequency analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS 25.0 AMOS 23.0 statistical program.BR Results: First, harmonious passion, a sub-factor of exercise passion of middle school athletes, was found to have a positive effect on interpersonal management, mental management, training management, and physical management of self-management, and obsessive passion had a positive effect on mental management and training management. Second, harmonious passion, a sub-factor of exercise passion of middle school athletes, was found to have a positive effect on the coach’s leadership by all factors of sport-confidence, social support, physical/mental preparation, coach’s leadership, and obsessive passion. Third, interpersonal management, mental management, training management, and physical management, which are sub-factors of self-management of middle school athletes, were found to have a positive effect on the ability verification factors of sport-confidence. Interpersonal management, mental management, and training management factors were found to affect support. Interpersonal management, mental management, training management, and physical management were found to have a positive effect on physical/mental preparation. Also, interpersonal management and mental management were found to have a positive effect on the coach’s leadership.BR Conclusion: It was confirmed that exercise passion of middle school athletes helps self-management and sport-confidence, and that self-management enhances sport-confidence. Based on the results of this study, along with the establishment of the identity of young athletes who lack maturity in the sports field, it is judged that the transmission of information on exercise passion and self-management will improve sport-confidence, thereby improving individual skills and performance.
