Abstract

In the north of the Ulchsky district of the Khabarovsk Territory, one of the two territorial groups of Negidals lives — the "lower" or Amur Negidals (the second group — the "Verkhovsky" — live upstream of the Amgun River). They make up more than half of the Negidals. In the summer of 2021, the expedition conducted research on modern ethnic processes among the lower Negidals in the places of their maximum concentration — the villages of Tyr and Takhta (1/3 of all Amur Negidals live in them). A mass survey with 100% coverage was carried out, 86 questionnaires were compiled. The article deals with demographic and migration processes, linguistic and ethnocultural processes, nationally mixed marriages, cross-breeding of the lower Negidal people.
