Abstract
The author conducts a comparative analysis of productive and consumer cooperatives in agriculture to clarify the organizational and legal features of their creation and functioning. The analysis assesses the positive results and benefits that farmers can achieve by participating in cooperatives, including: cost reduction, access to higher prices for their products, new markets, the use of expensive innovative equipment, solutions for product storage, processing, and delivery, and creation of new jobs. The author also highlights the challenges and complexities of establishing and developing agricultural cooperatives in new regions of Russia. Current government programs for farmers are examined, with a particular focus on support measures for agricultural producers, especially those operating within cooperative associations. This is essential during the integration of farmers in new territories into the economic and legal framework of the Russian Federation. The establishment of a free economic zone with tax and credit incentives and a cost-sharing system can facilitate the smooth transition for small producers in new regions and increase agricultural output.
