Abstract
A methodology for seismic performance evaluation of a 10-story reinforced concrete frame building is presented. The comparison between the results of nonlinear dynamic analysis and simplified modal nonlinear static method is carried out. The proposed methodology can be used to correctly estimate the maximum expected moments during a maximum considered earthquake. It is noted that traditional methods of analysis strongly underestimate seismic demands in comparison with nonlinear methods, especially in the middle part of the height of structures.
