Abstract

Work in the field of personnel management has recently become very diverse: This is not only the performance of labor functions in the personnel service, but also the performance of work in all functional areas of personnel management related to recruitment, headcount, selection, evaluation, staff development, remuneration, labor rationing and many others. As a result, the demand for specialists has increased. However, today it is possible to state the fact of a shortage of specialists in this area. This situation develops due to the influence of various factors. One of these factors is the small number of students studying in the field of Personnel Management. The majority of applicants’ understanding of this profession is reduced to presenting a job at the end of their studies as a personnel clerk. Another equally important factor is the poor training of graduates of this field, which in turn is caused by both a change in the training program and a decrease in hours in fundamental subjects. The article considers the professional trajectories of university graduates in «Personnel Management» as a subject of study. The author hypothesized that if a graduate in the field of Personnel Management has competencies that are basic (labor economics, labor rationing), then such a graduate is more in demand, which is reflected in the level of wages, employment opportunities, and a decrease in the likelihood of being among the unemployed. The article examines the experience of attracting specialists in the field of personnel management to teach disciplines to students studying both at the senior undergraduate courses and during practical training (industrial and pre-graduate). The article presents the results of a study devoted to the study of key areas of employment, as well as the issues of employment of graduates studying in the bachelor’s degree program «Personnel Management».
