Abstract
The issues of the effectiveness of judicial activity are receiving increasing attention in the scientific literature. The review contains an analysis of the main provisions of S.A. Kurochkin's book «The efficiency of civil litigation» devoted to these issues. The author's contribution to the development of the procedural doctrine is noted, and some critical remarks are also made.
