Abstract

In the editorial note, the chief scientific editor of the journal and the Scientific Secretary of the Scientific and Methodological Council for Environmental Engineering and Water Use discusses the topical and most pressing problems of the beginning of the new academic year 2021/2022. The new school year begins again amid the continuation of the global pandemic of the Covid-19 coronavirus. The continuation of the pandemic raises legitimate concerns among the academic community. Once again, like a year ago, students and teachers are concerned about the possible consequences of the pandemic's interference in the educational process, scientific and academic life. All our readers remember the experience of the forced combination of distance and intramural-extramural formats of organizing the educational process in various situations of quarantine restrictions and mass vaccination. Autumn is close and this experience may become relevant again. In the final part of the article, the author, as always, drew attention to the current tasks of further development and promotion of the journal "Bulletin of the Scientific and Methodological Council for Environmental Engineering and Water Use".
