Abstract

In light of the active development of the oil and gas sector in the Russian Federation and the attraction of foreign investors to this industry, it is of paramount importance to conclude shareholders' agreements between Russian oil and gas companies and foreign shareholders. The relevance of this topic is contingent upon several factors. Firstly, the Russian oil and gas industry continues to attract foreign investment, and the conclusion of shareholders' agreements with foreign shareholders becomes an integral part of this process. Secondly, such agreements have a considerable impact on the corporate governance system of Russian oil and gas companies, as well as on the efficiency of their operations.
