Abstract
This study aimed to develop a practical arts-based school autonomy time activity to be used during the school autonomy hours, as outlined in the 2022 curriculum. The study developed a school autonomy time program for practical arts by reorganizing [6실04-01] and [6실04-02] from the practical arts curriculum achievement standards. The target grades for this activity are grades 5 and 6. The activity, themed ‘Let's build a construction structure’, is characterized by providing opportunities for students to creatively design and build construction structures using various materials and tools—Kapra, 3D pen, MakeDo, and cardboard. These materials and tools were chosen for their ease of use, safety, and the ability to promote creativity. The study resulted in the development of a curriculum for school self-directed time based on the school curriculum. The developed curriculum includes the nature, objectives, content system, achievement standards, teaching and learning methods, and evaluation. It consists of five areas: opening up ideas, understanding materials and tools, using materials and tools, combining materials and tools, and sharing results. Each area comprises content elements, achievement standards, teaching and learning activities, lesson plans, and evaluations.
