There are many foreign teachers of English in China but these teachers don’t have the diploma paper that they are qualified teachers. Despite of this, these teachers teach only in private and missionary schools. In government and rural schools there is a lack of teachers. Sometimes in rural schools there are no English lessons at all. So the teachers who teach other subjects and a little bit knows English become teachers of English. These teachers don’t have any qualification and they have never pass courses of qualification. So these teachers faced with many problems. They can’t understand English speech, they don’t know how to make sentences correctly, and they don’t know English rules and structures. So pupils repeat mistakes of their teachers. Sometimes the teachers of senior schools become the teachers of English in primary school but they also faced with many problems: the main problem is that these teachers don’t know the children’s psychology and they don’t know how to motivate small children, so little children lose their interest to learn English. So, the question of English teachers in China is very acute, despite the fact that the government is working hard to overcome this problem, but for many years nothing changes.
