Abstract
The article presents statistics in the field of customs offenses, which is closely linked to the consequences of scientific and technological progress, which allows offenders to commit crimes at a high intellectual level. The theoretical aspects of profiling application in the activities of customs bodies are given. The concept of forms and methods of customs control is considered. The importance of the psychological method of customs control and profiling as a customs offenses prevention tool, which are being implemented in the customs practice of Ukraine, is determined. The role of preventive measures for the notification of customs offenses as well as сonsideration the importance of the world experience of customs administrations regarding violations of customs rules are highlighted. The importance of introducing the results of preventive measures of customs control on the European principles in the activities of customs authorities is determined. The directions and prospects of using the European model of profiling for effective customs control are shown.
