Abstract
A new subgrade design for permafrost soils has been developed and compared with existing structures and methods for enhancing temperature stability. The advantages and disadvantages and features of each design option are revealed. A thermal engineering calculation of the performance of a standard subgrade structure and a new, developed structure was performed. The possibility of solving technical and technological problems of constructing a railway line in permafrost conditions is shown. The possibility of solving technical and technological problems of constructing a railway line in permafrost conditions is shown. An original solution has been found for the design of the subgrade and the railway track as a whole, which makes it possible to reduce the volume of imported subgrade soil.
