Abstract

The conditions of industrial poultry farming provide for technological and preventive measures that inevitably cause a weakening of the protective systems of the organism of reared birds. The increasing infectious load, the refusal to use antibiotics, are forcing veterinary specialists to improve existing ones and look for new ways to prevent diseases. The immune system, as one of the regulatory systems, directly or indirectly affects all processes occurring in the body. The use of substances that affect the links of immunity, as well as having other useful properties, can certainly find its place in poultry farming. In the review, special attention is paid to synthetic immunomodulators, for which Azoxivet is a striking example.
