Abstract
The article reveals the essence of strategic management and its importance in solving the problems the national economy faces. It highlights the basic principles of strategic planning, ways and methods of implementation of the plans. The article defines the role and place of the executive authorities in the strategic management system and formulates their main functions and tasks. It identifies topical issues related to the necessity of optimizing approaches to the strategic plans implementation and the evaluation of the results obtained. The article formulates the main directions of improving control in the field of the strategic management.
