Abstract

The purpose of this study was to conduct a job analysis of life care supporters who were affiliated with 「Individualized Support Service for Older Adults」. What job areas should be strengthened were also examined based on results of job analysis. Using the DACUM method, a job model consisting of a job definition of life care supporters, 7 duties, and 21 tasks was derived. The needs analysis was conducted based on the job model. As a result of analyzing job needs using paired t-test, the Borich needs assessment model, and the locus for focus model, it was found that life care supporters' awareness should be improved and job education should be strengthened, especially in areas of social participation program management, life education operation, and daily life support. Results of the study suggest the following: 1) awareness of job of life care supporters should be improved, 2) job identity education should be strengthened, 3) competency-based job training should be systematized, 4) work manuals should be produced for life care supporters, and 5) life care supporters should receive job training before starting work.
